《Hybrid Truck》起點於我來到美國後的一個日常感官經驗。出國前，我帶著全球化使生活趨同的想像；然而置身新環境後，我意識到日常中總有使人「既熟悉又陌生」的感知落差。某日傍晚，街上傳來一段熟悉的旋律，它極像台灣垃圾車的音樂，實則是美國冰淇淋車。這兩個車輛共享相似的聲音場域，卻象徵相反的社會行為：在台灣，垃圾車信號意味著「捨棄」與集體釋放；在美國，冰淇淋車則代表「獲得」與甜美消費。這種買與丟、釋放與愉悅的弔詭鏡像，在我的身體中產生了奇妙的文化違和感。 

This project investigates cross-cultural sensory disorientation through the everyday sounds of Taiwan’s garbage trucks and America’s ice cream trucks. By juxtaposing these auditory symbols, the work highlights the ambiguous space between familiarity and strangeness. Through video installation and sound design, the project reflects on how ordinary experiences unsettle assumptions of global sameness. Drawing from my own transnational encounters, the work proposes that sound and smell become vehicles for cultural memory, confusion, and re-interpretation.
