How to Judge

The following videos were produced by parents/students at Cy-Woods High School in Houston and are shared with the permission of their coaching staff.  They give a good overview of tournament basics, judging 101, the events, etc.  If you are fulfilling a judging requirement for HHS Speech & Debate, this is a GREAT place to start for information!  

Also attached is the "Lay Judge Packet".  "Lay Judge" refers to a judge who is from the community, basically someone who didn't compete or coach speech/debate.  An overview of the events is included in that packet, along with some dos and don'ts of writing ballots for tournaments.
