Hawks win UIL State!

Over Spring Break, Hendrickson High School Seniors, Andrew Barron and Pedro Segura were crowned 5A State Champions in Policy Debate at the UIL State Meet at UT!  Andrew was also awarded the Golden Gavel for Top Speaker and Pedro received the Bronze Gavel for third speaker.  This marks the second year in a row that HHS has walked away with a state title in policy debate – Andrew is now a state champion in 4A and 5A.   This marks years of hard work and is one of the culminating points of their very distinguished debate careers here at HHS.  

Andrew and Pedro are members of the Hendrickson Speech and Debate team, and are coached by Samin Agha and Kirsten Nash.  This marks Nash's 2nd UIL State title.  Agha is no stranger to State Champions – this 5A title is his 5th straight 5A UIL Championship in a row – 4 while consulting with Dulles High School.
