Education and experience

Medical school started aged 18, degree from Oxford, completed Phd in proton pump inhibitors and GORD in 2000, currently working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in a major teaching hospital.

Role and responsibilities

Doctor charged with examining patients in her expensive private clinic but also does some NHS work 1-2 days a week.

Technical skills

Surgery, Medical prescription, Laser therapy

Subject domain skills and knowledge

Has written multiple research papers on gastroenterology related topics and two chapters of a medical education book. Considered an expert in the UK field but still trying to break on to the world scene.

Motivation and desires

Wants to be a top consultant but also driven by money, more so than patient centred care.

Goals and expectations

To see as many patients as she can in her NHS time slots and give them the best passive treatment she can provide. Expects patients to be subservient to her as well as nurses and other hospital staff.

Obstacles to their success

Has become increasingly frustrated with the shift towards the biopsychosocial model of healthcare and person centred care. She does not see the relevance of the patient’s back story and thinks they should accept her advice and have no say in treatment.

Unique assets

Has a tattoo on her left lateral ankle of broken heart that she got before medical school (behind her parents back) when she was going through a rebellious stage against her parents controlling behaviour and had just split up with her first boyfriend as her parents did not deem him to be “of suitable stock”.
