Over the years I have started to put together my favorite foods. I had quite a mixed upbringing with food from around the world. Jewish, Scottish, Greek, Turkish, Russian. The strange thing I never liked yogurt in fact I hated it along with Marmite. This could stem from my mother making her own which she was taught by her mother who was taught by her mother back in Russia. Basically its milk that has gone off and strained through a muslin cloth and allowed to cure. My mother used tights which would hang on our balcony in Kilburn.
The links show just a small sample I have made after being taught by my grandmother on my mother side or my mother. I was brought up most of my younger days in Dr Barnardo's with 11other children in a cottage from the age of 8 till I was 16. The food was quite healthy and nutritious but was only a little better than school dinners of the 60 which made school dinners quite acceptable.
At one time I wanted to be a chef but didn't like they way the head chef would shout at the people under him. I helped out at some of the top restaurants and hotels around London as my mother was a silver service waitress.
