Auschwitz-Birkenau was one of the largest Third Reich death camps. According to historical investigations which could be an under estimate, some 1.5 million people, among them one million Jews, were systematically starved, tortured and murdered in this camp, the symbol of humanity's cruelty to fellow human beings in the 20th century. About one person in six today say this didn't happen and it's just a zionist plot to discredit The Third Reich.
The above photos are from my visit to Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau 14th October 2019 I thought it would be very upsetting but I found myself being more angry what had been allowed to happen. I was greatly affected when I stood on what was known as the platform and could see in the far distance the remains of the huts. From my point of view it wasn't just Hitlers views on the Jewish problem as he put it, it was the views from around the world. The King of England Georg VIII who abdicated also had quite strong anti-Semitic views along with the first lady MP Lady Astor who is recorded as writing to the US Ambassador to Britain Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. (father of the to be President Kennedy of the USA) " Hitler might be the solution to the ‘world problem’ of Jews " she disliked other groups. History records her saying in 1934 " the Observer, (which belonged to her husband's family) was 'full of homosexuals, Jews and Catholics' and she worked hard to bar the hiring of any Jews or Catholics from the Sunday newspaper's senior positions. It should be noted her son from her first marriage had been convicted of homosexual offences in 1931.
I believe history records quite wrongly the world was not aware of what was going on in Auschwitz until a report is put together, a collection of three eyewitness accounts from 1943–1944 about the Shoah that was taking place in German occupied Poland. The 33 page report (The Auschwitz Protocols) that was sent around the world asking for the camps and rail links to be bombed to reduce the then full scale deportation of Hungary's jews to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Nothing was done! in fairness as we know now the biggest invasion was about to take place some months later.
I say "History records quite wrongly" for the fact all the Jewish people of England were living in fear of Germany invading and what would happen to them. I know this greatly affected my mother which cased many problems for her in later life and so it has also affected me.
I mention the information above because anti-semitism was rife in quite a few countries which I believe gave Adolf Hitler the green light for his Jewish problem that he had laid out in Mein Kampf in 1925 with the Shoah and all that followed, believing the world would turn a blind eye and even thank him.
Photos above are the few taken in Auschwitz-Birkenau. I was more shocked and forgot to take photos and I don't think we did see it all. It was at the end of the day and I was then quite tired but no where tired as the poor souls who were bought here from 1942 to 1945 The photo of the man touching the wagon was told to NOT TOUCH
We also visited Oscar Schindler's factory thinking it would be about how Oscar Schindler's saved many Jewish people. The museum was more about Poland and the German occupation of Oswiecim and it became part of Germany.
