Atheist

The question some people ask, why are you an atheist and not believe in god? And why can't I keep it to myself?

Because there are people who think it's ok to trample on the basic human rights of others based on their self righteous doctrines in the belief of a god that is recorded in a story book. These people believe its ok to teach children fairy tales in our schools instead of the fact, some sects believe it's ok to heal their children with prayer rather than seeking medical attention, even if this means the child might die.

Then there people who believe witchcraft which is yet another religion even darker than the christian faith. Its on record that some children have been beaten to death, believing they are possessed by the devil who is like god only in the minds of fools. Then there are people who believe it's ok to impose their religion's values on children with genital mutilations of both sexes. I live for the day when this is outlawed unless for medical reasons.

2020 There are still public stoning and flogging along with removal of limbs, Then we also have honour killings, acid attacks. Young girls shot in the face or set on fire and other atrocities carried out each and every day by people in the name of archaic doctrines and imaginary gods.

Then we have 11th September 2011 when the World Trade Centre Towers were reduced to rubble by terrorists! This was proof no god has ever existed due to the senseless killing of those people of mixed faiths due to some miss-guided people following that was written some 1500 years ago and proclaimed it was done in gods name!

For these and so many more reasons I choose to be an atheist and have nothing to do with the madness. I don't need any god to be a decent, sane and moral person. I don't want to make myself out to be a better person than I am. I have faith in myself.

I don't think I had a faith even from a young age, in fact I had a fear of god and churches. It was when I was in Dr Barnardos and it was the time I needed to be confirmed. I was made to attended classes at the age of 10½ this was when I questioned the teachings and was even removed due to my questions. My biggest hangup was the 6 million Jews who were killed by the Nazis! where was god then? He had broken his promise or didn't exist. I chose the later.

While on my soapbox I ask this question: why do Muslims and Jews get their children Circumcision? This is the removal of the foreskin from the human penis. That god has made in his wisdom! So what these people are saying their god was rubbish and made a big mistake when designing the male penis and don't get me started on the female genitalia that is not correctly made and needs cutting off!

While I am not a homosexual I can't understand why the church would have such a problem with people being gay (good as You) but accept the abuse of young boys in that they move on the priest or vicar when an abuse case comes to light so they can start all over again.

Homosexuality : A Biological reality ........................ Homophobia : A lifestyle choice ............... Live and let live I say.
