TW: Death
It's a tragedy, they all think. Death is terrifying only in that it is unknown. But they had never been scared. He fought his way through life, every minor inconvenience a mountain to climb up. And he made it to the top, had done everything he set out to do. And it's with this in mind that he let himself die.
He thought of everyone who had left him behind, who had no choice but to leave. And even though he would be leaving his dearest behind, he could finally see his family again. Could finally meet his mother, and apologize to his father.
He could finally know that he had done everything he could. He could finally rest knowing that he’s done enough. Because he could never judge that himself, he would always rule it insufficient. Death is the only truly neutral judge of it. And it declared his actions enough.
He had cried as he appeared, how could he not? He’s so young, and he had left his dearest behind. He let himself die but could never quite accept that he had left people behind. He still can’t quite believe that he has people who would mourn him.
It’s not like he had any growing up. Had to keep everyone pushed away because everyone was looking to get ahead, and somehow he was the only one to do it.
