Make your own string of celebratory Papel Picado flags by following the steps in this article by Telma Garcia. While we loved making papel picado on the laser cutter with Sra. Gretter's 7th grade Spanish students last year, and created some truly intricate designs, this website makes crafting them by hand with scissors a simple breeze.
You will need:
tissue paper in a variety of colors
scissors
string
scotch/clear tape
Tip: Google "papel picado template" to find many patterns you can print & cut out if you don't want to go free-form.
