Papel Picado are beautiful tissue paper or fabric decorations hung in the streets during Festivals in Mexico. You may also recognize them from the Pixar movie Coco

Make your own string of celebratory Papel Picado flags by following the steps in this article by Telma Garcia.  While we loved making papel picado on the laser cutter with Sra. Gretter's 7th grade Spanish students last year, and created some truly intricate designs, this website makes crafting them by hand with scissors a simple breeze.  

You will need: 

Tip: Google "papel picado template" to find many patterns you can print & cut out if you don't want to go free-form. 

Gather your materials and follow the directions from the Cacique Blog site to create your own Papel Picado!
