1.1 Cardboard Attachments Poster
Build a Reference Poster of All the Amazing Ways to Create 3D and Movable Forms When You Attach Materials Together
Hang Your Poster In Your New Makerspace at Home!
Did you know there are so many other ways to work with cardboard than just taping it together?
While we are familiar with cutting cardboard and using tape to create shapes like boxes - there really are so many ways to attach cardboard pieces together to make 3D shapes and design features.
Creating a poster to hang in your makerspace area as reference will help you remember quick tips and construction techniques as you build models at home.
You're also learning how to mechanically attach materials together. Glue and tape can only go so far, and require drying times and supports to make sure your item stays steady. By learning how to mechanically attach materials - you are creating a sturdier, longer-lasting design!
We've found some posters out there on the Internet to inspire you. We suggest choosing 5-10 attachment styles from the list below and building your own poster!
Check out Mrs. Delia's how-to videos for each attachment style, embedded below.

Tip: Working at home with cardboard can be pretty tricky, because it is hard to cut precisely with scissors. We suggest making your at-home poster out of chipboard (cereal box material) so you can easily cut pieces with scissors to be exactly like you want! You'll still learn the same things.
