We use reflexive pronouns (= повратне заменице) when we want to show that a subject and an object refer to the same person.
These pronouns are in fact compounds formed from possessive adjectives and 'self'.
Reflexive pronouns almost always stand after transitive verbs (= прелазни глаголи), those which must have an object:
I've cut myself.
Look after yourself.
Lucy was very pleased with herself.
He lives by himself. (= alone)
The car itself is all right. (= emphasis)
We painted the house by ourselves. (= without anyone's help)
Help yourselves to some biscuits.
