hog the bed, phrase = to take over the entire bed
The words I, me, you and them used in this comic are called personal pronouns (= личне заменице). For example, you replaces Pooky, Garfield's teddy bear, and them replaces hugs.
When both the speaker and the listener know who or what they're talking about, they usually use personal pronouns instead of the names of people, animals, things or places.
Pronouns agree with the nouns they replace in:
* person (1st, 2nd or 3rd)
* number (singular or plural) &
* gender (male, female or neuter)
One more thing, in comparisons subject pronouns are used more than the object ones (Jill is taller than I.), but sometimes both forms are possible, with the change of meaning (Jack would rather talk to her than to me. / Jack would rather talk to her than I would.) .
