The Arishem are one of Osma's predominant ethnic groups. They make their home in the southern part of the nation, with their capital in Tombo City. While the Arishem believe that their chief god is the parent of the others, they don't assign a gender to them. The local name for their religion is instead The Faith of Arishem, using their name for the deity.
On account of the ambiguity of the gender of their chief deity, transgender, intersex, and other gender non-conforming people among the Arishem are thought to be uniquely blessed, with some sort of higher spiritual understanding of the cosmos than those who live and identify as strictly male or female from birth till death. The openness of the Arishem, as well as the lack of perceived baggage that foreigners believe the matriarchal Amansie, patriarchal Eunoto, and the mercilessly meritocratic Ajak to have, has made them the mostly highly regarded of Osma's four main tribes on the world stage. Prior to the establishment of Songwo Province, outsiders would flock to the south, being a large part of why Cape Crimson, Osma's largest city, was founded and grew the way that it did.
