The Amansie are one of Osma's predominant ethnic groups. They make their home in the western part of the nation, with their capital in the city of Nkwane. The Amansie believe in a chief goddess, with the local name for their religion being the Faith of the Mother.
Due to their belief that a female deity created the world, the Amansie are a matriarchal people, with the importance of the role women play in bringing up the next generation awarding them great respect and prestige. Until the democratization of Osma at the end of the 9th century, men were barred from holding political office. Even when that embargo was lifted, the vast majority of Amansie representatives in the federal government were women. In the century and some change since, however, more men are seeing them represented in provincial politics.
The Amansie have a tenuous relationship with the Eunoto people of the east.
