Nyrellanism is not a monolith. Amidst its many millions of followers, groups of them lead their lives in different ways, split apart by their beliefs on how to interpret the religion’s foundational text, The Testaments of the Divines and their Last Witnesses, colloquially known as The Testaments.
Fundamentalism
Nyrellan Fundamentalism treats the Testaments as fact, and that they are perfect and without error.
Lydianism
A subsect of Fundamentalists who believe Oslein should rule the world as Nyrella's chosen nation. They also worship the royal family as Divines on Unios because of their connection to Her.
Positivism
A subsect of Fundamentalists who reject the chapters in the Testaments of mortal failings, as warnings against what not to do. Focus on what the Divines said the Unitians should do.
Negativism
Anti-Positivist. These people focus on the things the Divines said they shouldn't do, ignoring those things they're explicitly told to in some other chapters.
Revisionism
Nyrellan Revisionism is open to continually revising their interpretation of the Testaments to match changing societal trends.
Skepticism
On account of the Church officially denying the existence of other gods or divine beings, Skeptics also doubt that the Divines are Gods. Still, they follow the Testaments as general life advice. Don't believe in the Church or prayer.
Spiritism
First practiced by the people of Estary and Goengyi, Spiritism blends Nyrellanism with animism. Believe that the Divines are just especially powerful Spirits.
Weavers
Weavers are effectively Roma Spiritists. Due to the connection between Nyrella and the Creator, these Roma see the Creator as Divine of Divines.
Divinism
People who pick one of the Divines and dedicate their lives to them and their teachings, largely ignoring the Testaments outside of that Divine's appearances.
Patronism
A subsect of Divinism where the biased Divine is one's Patron. A Patron is said to be not unlike a Zodiac Sign, but with the Gods of the Church rather than constellations.
