My internship under Celebrating Singapore Shores in celebration of the International Year of the Reef in 2018 kickstarted my journey into marine science that I have always been interested in as a child that enjoyed documentaries and aquarium fieldtrips. More recently, I started delving into research when I joined EMEL to work on the effect of structural complexity on fish assemblages along seawalls. In line with my interest in fish ecology that grew after my first project, I will be carrying out my final year project on the effects of different substrates on parrotfish grazing along urban shorelines.
