Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith is an artist from Central Utah who works across graphite, paint, and pen and ink. His work uses surrealism, abstraction and cartoons to express facets of his life and feelings of loneliness. He is influenced by Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres in his work. Cellular Smiley attempts to find happiness and stability in a chaotic world, where things seem to break and reform at a pace that is difficult for society to maintain. By exploring these ideas through a GIF, the work becomes viewed through the perspective of a frantic smiley face emerging from simple line and shape, breaking apart and repeating. Jordan Smith is currently a student at Utah Valley University studying Art and Design who graduates in 2022. He hopes to continue in the art design field (wherever possible) and possibly education.
