Grace Vargason

Grace Vargason is an artist from Salt Lake City, Utah who works across digital drawing and traditional painting and drawing mediums. Her work uses descriptive yet minimal imagery to study themes of conservation, memory and mortality. In this work, Monolith used collaged photographs and digital drawing to express the fleeting nature of seemingly permanent environments from human impact. By exploring these ideas through a stop-motion animation, the work becomes experienced through the perspective of a changing monolith laided landscapes due to the impact of human hands. Grace Vargason is currently a student at Utah Valley University studying Art Education who graduates in Fall 2021. She hopes to continue creating art and teaching art as a high school art educator.
