Emily Ferguson

Emily Ferguson is an artist from Southern New Mexico who works across various drawing mediums and water media. Their work uses mourning and nature imagery to express emotions around the body in relation to gender and worship. In this work, Emily used various dried pasta to express the feeling of blooming or bursting. By exploring these ideas through a GIF, the work becomes viewed through the perspective of a physical sensation, expressing a movement similar o inhaling and exhaling. Emily is currently a student at Utah Valley University studying Art and Design who graduates in the spring of 2022. They hope to eventually teach in higher education.
