Hannah Brown

Hannah Brown is an artist from Salt Lake City, Utah who works across graphite, charcoal, pen, watercolor and oil painting. Her work uses simple lines and motion to study the shapes, shadows, and stories she wants to tell. In this work, Hannah used scans of simple pen studies to express the idea that we look at strangers and houses every day and we often don’t think twice about it, but each of these houses on every street holds a family or an individual with their own unique life story and their own weird quirks. By exploring these ideas through a flipbook-like GIF, the work becomes viewed through the perspective of an individual looking in on the personal life of what is a “normal” American man. Hannah is currently a student at Utah Valley University studying Art Education who graduates in Spring 2022. She hopes to continue to create art and to help others create their own work as well.
