You can verify iTunes on the Mac app store from a Mac. (This will not work for an iPhone anymore)
Open the App Store (not iTunes)
Go to redeem
Enter in the code.
If it's good it will say This code must be redeemed in the iTunes store
If it's used it will say it's already been redeemed.
As of 9/18/19 xml will verify the same as any other code. Will still redeem SD
If it's not an iTunes code it will say invalid.
If you have a computer where you have not accepted the new terms and conditions this will work to verify iTunes.
Just put the code in the redeem window.
If it's good it will ask you to accept the new terms. You can hit cancel and just enter in the next code.
If it's used it will say it's already been redeemed.

I'm not going to go into detail on this one as it's different for every computer and install is somewhat difficult.
You need to have an older version of iTunes installed where the popup that asks if you want to download now or later comes up (I have 12.4.3.1)
Leaving it up to you to find an older version.
If the pop up comes up asking if you want to download now or later it is good. You now have to open the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and kill iTunes without clicking anything.
