Retailer Compare

Probably the most useful tool on this website, it will show you what you do not own from the daily retailer sales. Vudu will have all movies and TV, the other providers will have all movies separated into a full sheet (all movies) and a MA-unowned sheet (MA only). You will need to check it daily as it auto-updates with the new sales for that day. Option 1 will not keep the sales from the previous day (those are available on the individual price drop sheets linked under spreadsheets) . Option 2 will keep the info for the previous week's sales. Big thanks to Brent S and Will for all this info and the tool.

Note bundles will not show as owned, but the individual movies within the bundles will.

Also, short term the MS and GP non-MA is not matched yet to the Vudu entries, so you may see non-MA you own showing as unowned there. Eventually this will be updated.

You first need to install the Vudu Catalog tool in Chrome/Edge

For this comparison you will need to turn purchase dates off on the Vudu Catalog Extension. Go to chrome://extensions/?options=bnlpiockcfehbfbdcegahemgmjfkdopc and unclick include purchase dates

Next go to https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/mymovies while signed in and run the extension (click it). If you have a large library and this is your first time running it, it may take awhile.

Also go to https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/mytv and run another report on your TV

Save the CSV files somewhere you can find them on your computer

There are two report options you can run to compare the daily sales:

Option 1 (Vudu is not your main provider, includes TV, separate tabs for the different providers, includes current day sales only)

Next click on this link to compare if Vudu is not your main provider or if you want to see non MA elsewhere  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10-iTAdhZaM1Bb-F0rTRN6xI-XCmJwai4eRsCPp2h46w/copy it will open up a copy of the compare file. This is yours to edit

Option 2 (Vudu is your main provider, includes all Vudu movie sales and MA on the other providers for past week, now includes TV, Mix and Matches, Fanflix, each day in one tab) THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST POPULAR OPTION

Click on this link if you want option 2  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nLyWQDqtZinkGcx9qDdjoKlX5fobETychPP_Gs-2gO4/copy it will open up a copy of the compare file. This is yours to edit

Go to the sheet in this file titled Vudu Catalog Movies- Paste as Values in Cell C1

Click on Cell C1

Make sure your cursor is in cell C1

Go to File

Click on Import

Upload

Find your most recent file from the vudu catalog of your movies

Change the import location to "Replace data at selected cell"

Unclick "Convert text to numbers, dates and formulas"

Click Import Data

Wait for it to load (this may take a few minutes, it may take longer depending on your library size)

Go to the sheet in this file titled Vudu Catalog TV- Paste as Values in Cell C1 (if doing Option 1)

Make sure your cursor is in cell C1

Go to File

Click on Import

Upload

Find your most recent file from the vudu catalog of your tv

Change the import location to "Replace data at selected cell"

Unclick "Convert text to numbers, dates and formulas"

Click Import Data

Wait for it to load (this may take a few minutes, it may take longer depending on your library size)

Note that UV imports for TV will not show as owned since Vudu doesn't mark the season as owned. You can manually enter the Content ID into Column S and quality into Column M at the bottom of the page if you would like so it will show as owned in the Vudu TV sales.

Go to the other tabs in the spreadsheet and sort owned to FALSE or FALSE and UPGRADE. This will show you what you do not own from the different provider sales or what you need to upgrade.

This should auto-update daily for you with the new price drops. If you are seeing the previous daily information, refresh and it should update if the daily price sheets have updated.

If you set a customer filter you will need to remove that for it to auto update daily.

Save the link for your personal spreadsheet somewhere. Make it a bookmark, star file it on Google Drive, etc. This will be the url you open each day. If you lose it you can always make another or check here https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/recent

Wishlist Option

If you want to see what is on sale that's on your wishlist. Run the Vudu Catalog on: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/mywishlist

Then import it into the Wishlist Tab on your sheet in cell A1, using the same settings as above. Now your Wishlist items will show up under the owned column. Note when you replace your wishlist you probably want to go to that tab, hit Ctrl+A (For a PC), delete and then reimport.

FAQ on Personalized Sheets

No, it will automatically update for the new daily sales. You only have to set it up once and then just open it every day (or every week, whatever you want) to look.

It is updated every day after I post the daily sales post. Big thanks to Brent S and Will Griesmer this is a lot of work every day.

No, if you want it to take away the movies you have bought you will need to run a report and import the updated CSV as before. After you run it the first time, the rest run much faster. Or you can just manually add the Vudu ID and quality of the movie you bought into the Vudu movies, etc tab. Or you can just leave it as is and skip over the ones you know you purchased.

You probably don’t have it in there as text. Make sure you are pasting as a value and not formula if you are copying and pasting.

Just start over and make a new one, it takes about 5 min and is probably easier than figuring out what you did.

If Vudu has a movie in a lower quality and another provider has it in a higher quality that movie will continue to show up because the data is from your Vudu collection. You can manually change the quality on your owned tab if it bugs you.

Sorry, it pulls from another sheet so you can’t. You can copy and paste into a totally different sheet if you really want to do something else with it but it won’t update in that one.

Please bug me. I genuinely want to help you use this fantastic tool and save time each day scouring all over for sales.

Yes, once it’s created you can open it on any device. To set it up the first time and run a csv on an android device follow the directions here: https://www.makeuseof.com/chrome-extensions-android-mobile/ and then send me a chat to help set up your sheet.

Okay, you have more time than I do.
