Rod ends are devices used as a connector between the A-Arm and the knuckle, available in various sizes; each size has a different dynamic load rating. The rod ends that we use are SAKACs from SKF.
The table summarizes the load acting on the A-Arm in an extreme case (longitudinal load and lateral load act on the A-Arm simultaneously). It can be concluded that all A-Arms except the Rear-Lower A-Arm can use the SAKAC 8 M rod ends from SKF except the Rear-lower A-Arm, which the SAKAC 8 M cannot handle load in extreme cases, has to move up to use SAKAC 10 M rod ends instead.
From the coordinates of the A-Arm geometry from the previous design process and the dimensions of the Rod ends of the three corners of each A-Arm, we can design the A-Arm as shown in the picture.
