Almost every modern FSAE car structure usually be a combination of Frame (or Primary Structure, Chassis), Body and Aerodynamic Devices. The main function of Frame is to be able to transfer the road loads both in the longitudinal and lateral directions, as well as to internally package the driver controls and powertrain systems. Secondary is to maintain driver safety at all times. Body parts refers to the exterior shell or casing that covers the internal structure and components of the vehicle. This can include the nose cone, cockpit panels and other pieces that provide aerodynamics, protection for the driver, and a unique appearance for the car. Lastly, the Aerodynamic Devices are the parts on the vehicle which guides airflow for purposes including generation of downforce and/or change of drag.
