RULES
The smallest and easiest to kidnap player deals the cards and becomes the first game leader.
Each player receives 3 response cards; he can consult them but must not show them to other players.
The game leader takes a question card and reads the question on it out loud.
Players with answer cards then have 90 seconds to use one of their answer cards and try to answer the question as best they can.
Each player must draw a small illustration on their slate representing the situation of the question and the answer.
Each player must also think of a sentence to accompany the illustration they draw
“The best answer to the question” can take any form. It could be the most creative answer, the funniest answer, the most realistic answer, etc.
Players reveal their answers and illustrations, one after the other, in a clockwise direction starting to the left of the game leader.
The person who chose the question card chooses the best answer from the proposed answers. The person who chooses the question card wins the round and gets a point!
Each player then throws away the response card they used and must draw a new one. Each player must have 3 answer cards before the next round can begin.
The person to the left of the initial dealer then takes a question card and becomes the game leader. He then asks the next question.
This process repeats until one player gets 5 points, and then they are the winner!

Note to learners
This game gives learners an opportunity to express their sense of humor as well as developing language skills. Most questions and answers will not be common. The game may be the first time students have heard many of these terms. The game also gives students the opportunity to practice grammar. Some questions are in present tense, others in past tense. Students should know which one to use for each card. Otherwise, their drawing will make no sense!
Note to teachers
Draw or Die is a game that integrates humor, vocabulary, and grammar. At the linguistic level, players must identify the words on their cards, construct sentences, and read sentences aloud. On a cultural level, the game gives learners an opportunity to apply their knowledge with images. The teacher could replace the word cards with the target vocabulary from the course or unit. The teacher may also replace or add images representing the concepts associated with the course.
