실크스크린으로 망점을 다용했다. 가타기누(肩衣)를 착용한 무사를 연상시킨다. 이것을 그리다 보니 도검에 대해 잘 알게 되었다. 여기에 있는 것은 '우치가타나(Uchigatana)'. 1570년~1580년 이후의 무사라는 뜻이 된다.

배경은 스즈키 아키라(鈴木明) 씨에게 부탁드렸다. 나의 아티스트 스테이트먼트를 잘 이해하고 디자이너로서 이에 맞춰 디자인해 주셨다.

I made extensive use of halftone dots in this silk-screen print. It evokes the image of a samurai wearing kataginu (traditional shoulder garments). While drawing this, I became quite knowledgeable about Japanese swords. What you see here is an "Uchigatana." That places this samurai in the period after 1570–1580.

The background was designed by Akira Suzuki. He carefully interpreted my artist statement and incorporated it into the design.
