There is a Demo Class available that has students with you in the role of Instructor. You can practice. It's available when you log into Class at the bottom right from your sandbox. Click on Join Class Room, then from the main Class screen, you will see Launch Demo Class at the bottom right corner.
Proctoring within Class is done within the application itself; it's one of the built-in features. It's limited to the professor seeing the faces/computer desktops. Class is looking to partner with a professional proctoring service, but the built-in proctoring may be useful for low-stakes assessments.
3 per screen.
If you plan to use Class.com as a video conferencing tool, it can be used with the Instructor Live Proctoring option, provided the test is set up in Canvas. The instructor would select “Other” in the dropdown menu in the Instructor Live Proctoring option.
But if you plan to use the assessment features (push the exam or quiz) within Class.com, that would not be supported with LockDown Browser. LockDown Browser only integrates with the tests in Canvas.
This would be done through LockDown Browser (in Canvas.) To enable LDB in your course, click on Settings within your course nav. bar. Next, find the the "Navigation" tab and look for LockDown Browser. Click on the ellipsis (three vertical dots) and select "+ Enable." Hit Save.
Once enabled, you should see your Canvas course exams within LDB. Once you locate your assessment, click on the dropdown arrow and select Settings, look for Proctoring and select "Allow instructor live proctoring for this exam (Zoom, Teams, etc.) Set "Select your video conferencing system" to Other.
You can then use Class to monitor (proctor) the students as they take the exam using LDB within Canvas.
Please see the document below for instructions.
A: Class recordings will be uploaded to Panopto. However, you must map the meeting ID to your course folder,
or else they'll end up in the default folder, making them inaccessible to students.
Please watch this short instructional video, which will guide you through the necessary steps.
