高津 飛鳥
My affiliation is Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU). I'm half Tokyotie and half Niigatian. I spent all my university days (including ph.D) in Sendai. My research area is Geometric Analysis. I like to analyze geometry through diffusion equations such as heat flow. I prefer positively curved spaces, but I also like CAT. 東京都立大学所属。東京と新潟のハーフ。学問的には仙台育ち。研究分野は幾何解析。熱方程式などの拡散方程式を使って空間の形を調べたいです。正に曲がった空間が好きですが、CATも好きです。高津 飛鳥
谷口 哲至 I am a member of the Faculty of Engineering, Hiroshima Institute of Technology. My research fields are Spectral Graph Theory and Algebraic Graph Theory. I like to explore new areas by mixing other mathematics with my research fields. My home-town is Hiroshima. My hobbies are softball, baseball, and camping. 広島工業大学工学部に所属しています。研究分野はスペクトラルグラフ理論，代数的グラフ理論です。他の数学を取り込んで新しい領域を模索することが好みです。広島出身で，趣味はソフトボール，野球，キャンプです。
周 晓丹 (ジョウ シャオダン) Originally from China, Xiaodan obtained her PhD and worked as a postdoc in the US before moving to Okinawa. Her research interest lies in analysis and PDEs on metric spaces. In her free time, she enjoys reading, especially detective novels! 晓丹は中国出身で、アメリカで博士号取得後、ポスドク研究員を経て、沖縄に移りました。晓丹の研究分野は距離空間上の解析及び偏微分方程式です。余暇には読書、特に推理小説を楽しんでいます！
佐々田 槙子（photo by 河野裕明） I came to study probability theory as I was impressed that it allowed microscopic laws and macroscopic phenomena to be rigorously connected by mathematics. Recently, I have been excited about the connections between different fields of mathematics. My two children are growing up so quickly, and I feel happy, but also a little sad. ミクロな法則とマクロな現象が、数学によって厳密に繋がることに感動して、確率論の研究をしてきました。最近は、分野をこえた数学のつながりにワクワクしています。二人の子供がどんどん成長し、嬉しくもちょっと寂しく思う日々です。

Benoit Collins lived in France until he was 25 years old. Before joining Kyoto University, he worked in Canada. His research interests include Random Matrix Theory and its applications. He likes sailing, traveling, and hiking with his three kids. コリンズ ブノワは２５歳までフランスに暮らし、京大に勤める前にはカナダで勤めていました。研究分野はランダム行列論とその応用を含みます。趣味はセーリング、旅行、３人の子供たちとのハイキングなどなどです。コリンズ ブノワ
宮岡 礼子 I am Reiko Miyaoka, retired from Tohoku University in March 2021. The last 5 years was specially appointed by President. I always consider that women and/or men who take a childcare leave can extend the retirement age. I was lucky in this sense. I’m majoring in Geometry, and always try to understand math figuratively. 2021年3月に，最後の5年は総長特命教授として東北大学を退職しました．私は常々（産）育休を取る必要があった女性（男性）は定年延長できるという制度があると良いと思っています．私は実質5年雇用が延長され幸運でした．幾何を専攻していて，図形的にものを考えるのが好きです．(Reims, 5th June 2022)

I am working on algebraic geometry, in particular singularity theory.
I retired from a professorship and am now a project professor at the University of Tokyo. I am always interested in how mathematicians encountered problems on which they made outstanding achievements.
代数幾何学，特に特異点理論を研究しています．
大学の教授職を卒業し，今は東大の特任教授を務めています．素晴らしい業績を上げた数学者たちがどのようにその問題に出会ったのか，いつも興味深く思っております．

I am an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Science, Kyushu University. Before coming to Fukuoka, I lived in Osaka, Tokyo, and London, where I obtained a PhD by investigating extremely nasty functions (typical continuous functions). Interestingly enough, I nowadays work on (variants of) arguably the nicest function, the zeta function.
九州大学基幹教育院の准教授です。福岡に来る前は大阪，東京，ロンドンに住んだことがあり，ロンドンでは非常に悪い関数（典型的連続関数）を研究して博士号を取得しました。面白いことに，最近ではおそらく最良の関数といえるであろうゼータ関数の変種について研究しています。

Originally from the Czech Republic, I have been living and working in Japan for about 20 years, starting at Kanazawa University, then moving to Kyoto University and since 2023 to Tokyo Metropolitan University. My field of interest is applied mathematics, especially topics related to variational problems and nonlinear PDEs. I also like to do mathematical modeling and numerical simulations. The most satisfying moment in my research comes when a new mathematical idea succeeds in helping understand a real-world problem.
チェコ出身で，20年ほど前から日本に住んで，仕事してきました．はじめは金沢大学，その後，京都大学，そして2023年より東京都立大学に移りました．専門分野は応用数学で，変分問題や非線型偏微分方程式に関係する問題に興味を持っています．数理モデリングと数値計算も好きです．研究で最も満足する瞬間が訪れるのは，新しい数学を通して実際世界の問題を理解・解決できたときです．
