There was a lot of discussion in 2020 about the name 'Onkel Toms Hütte'. Some people find the book based on a stereotypical description of black people and the characterization of the title "Uncle Tom" himself, who "deliberately dehumanizes" in order to be perceived by his slave owner as not threatening. In American language, the term "Uncle Tom" has been used for decades to discriminate against black people who submissively endure racism and inequality and work for whites.
Stickers with the name "Onkel Toms Hütte" were removed by angry protesters; even whole panels were removed.
