This station wasn't accessible for travellers during 13 August 1961 - 14. October 1995. The GDR built the Berlin Wall, ending freedom of movement between East and West Berlin in 1961. As a result, the Berlin public transit network, was also divided into two. The station was located in East Berlin near the border and was closed.
