This station wasn't accessible for travellers during 13 August 1961 - 12 November 1993. The GDR built the Berlin Wall, ending freedom of movement between East and West Berlin in 1961. As a result, the Berlin public transit network, was also divided into two. The station was located in East Berlin near the border and only used as marshalling yard for trains with the destination Thälmanplatz / Otto-Grotewohl-Straße.
