This station was the end station of the U1 during 13 August 1961 - 14. October 1995. The GDR built the Berlin Wall, ending freedom of movement between East and West Berlin in 1961. As a result, the Berlin public transit network, was also divided into two. The station was located in West Berlin near the border and became end station.
