16 September 1963: Name changed to 'Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia' following the formation of the Malaysian Federation.

May 2004: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) / Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) was established under the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency Act. It came into force on 15th February 2005 and became operational on 30th November 2005. It is the principal government agency tasked with maintaining law and order and coordinating search and rescue operations in the Malaysian Maritime Zone and on the high seas. The Agency is part of the Malaysian Federal Civil Agency, not the Malaysian Armed Forces, and report directly to the Prime Minister's Department.
The Agency is also known as the Malaysian Coast Guard.

Bomba, as it is popularly known, is the fire and rescue services agency in Malaysia.
1883: The Malaysian fire and rescue services was initially established as the Selangor State Fire and Rescue Volunteers Squad.
1946: the Malayan Union Fire Services (MUS) was formed after the World War II, based in Kuala Lumpur.
The fire and rescue service was handed over to the state governments following the Federation of Malaya's agreement.
1st January 1976: Service integrated as a federal-level department reporting to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government
15th May 1981: Renamed as the Malaysian Fire Services Department.
8th January 1997: Became known as the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.
1998: Delivery of two Mi-17-1Vs starting the Fire Brigade’s Air Unit at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.
