The Cyprus Air Command is the armed air wing of the National Guard. The presence of the cyprus Air Force began in December 1963, when the Cyprus Aviation Administration (AAC) was established. During 1964, two Airport Protection Squadrons, the 3rd Early Warning Station Squadron and an A/F squadron jointly with the Police Headquarters (6 A/F and 2 E/P) were placed under the Cyprus Air Command.
