Formed in 1952 using the North American T-6 Texan, the Smoke Squadron is the aerial demonstration squadron of the Brazilian Air Force. The team used the T-24 (Fouga CM.170-2 Super Magister) between 1968 and 1972 before reverting back to the T-6 until 1977 when the team disbanded. They reformed in 1983 using the Neiva T-25 Universal and then soon after the Embraer EMB-312 Tucano. They currently fly seven Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucanos.
