Empire Test Pilots' School (ETPS) / QinetiQ
Run by the MoD & QinetiQ under a long-term agreement, the Empire Test Pilots' School (ETPS) is a training school for test pilots and flight test engineers. Established in 1943, and initially based at Boscombe Down, the school moved to RAF Cranfield in October 1945 and then to Royal Aircraft Establishment Farnborough in July 1947. It returned to Boscombe Down on 29 January 1968.
Qinetiq is a UK multinational defense technology company based in Farnborough and was formed in June 2001 following the privatisation of the former Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA).
