Hey, I’m Yuning Yao, a first-year Media Technology student. Before this, I studied Film, TV & Media Art in Shanghai, where I made four documentaries exploring urban life, identity, and human connection. I love films that feel visually poetic and quietly introspective—directors like Theo Angelopoulos, Jim Jarmusch, and Tsai Ming-liang have shaped the way I see storytelling.
I shoot film photography and used to develop my own rolls ( I don't have the materials or space for it rn T_T).
I’m also looking to collaborate on new projects, whether that’s documenting personal stories or experimenting with fresh narratives. Always up for new ideas!
When I’m not filming, I’m probably cheering for Liverpool FC, listening to rock music, or video calling my cat, Che-che (his name means car and cherry at the same time).
