My idea is based on Amy Guijt Artificial Creature idea with the title "Head in the clouds - for the daydreamers". I could really connect with the experience of trying to read a book and finding myself at the end of the page completely out of sync with the story. I think the description of the 'Homunculus Loxodontus' by artist Margriet van Breevoort fits the daydreaming artificial creature quite well but I think the approach of 'My little piece of Privacy' by Niklas Roy more interesting. I think this piece is more like sparking experiences that pull us out of our everyday life and in that sense somewhat relates to daydreams. But it is more to disrupt the straight path and drag you into the here and now. So while daydreaming also is a form of losing focus to a routine I would describe daydreaming as leaving the here and now while 'My little piece of Privacy' brings you back to the here and now.
The example Amy gave 'My little piece of Privacy' by Niklas Roy reminded me of Freiburg im Breisgau. In this German city there are small emblems in a mosaic style paved in the ground. These cobble embedded mosaics usually represent the store's business. This would be like the exact opposite of the effect because it does not introduce to daydreaming but rather rips you out of your daydreams, when you are walking through the city, keeping your head down and avoiding looking at the shops. So in a way it brings you immediately in the here and now. But of course there is a monetary interest and even though it is quite artistic and beautiful it basically is advertisement.

This made me think of an installation that catches your interest and curiosity, but has not this kind of capitalist background. I imagine colorful light stripes on the ground that light up as soon as you step on them. This activates them. Then in front of you the lights go on and show you a way on the ground that you can follow. But you don't get a clue what you are following. It is inviting you to a little adventure in the city, not knowing where it might lead you. It reacts when you step on it, like the light pattern changes from a straight line to small tree like structures growing out on the sides, changing colors. The lines should lead to a place in the city where it is just nice to exist. A bench in a park or to a small river.
