Start of Fall Session -
Our Goal for 2023 -24
While our primary goal for Fall/Spring/Summer Youth sessions is to continue to teach the game and encourage athletes to develop a love for our great sport of water polo. Our goal as a club is to organize athletes and families to attend as many high-level age group events as possible such as Rock-Tober, Founders Cup and one being the National Junior Olympics in the Summer of 2024.
National Junior Olympics
What is the Junior Olympics - The USA Water Polo Junior Olympic Championships is the largest age group water polo tournament in the Nation. Athletes and teams come from across the country to compete on the national stage. The Junior Olympics Tournament consists of three divisions, the Championship Division, Classic Division and Invitational Division dependent upon the number of teams wishing to compete in that age group. Teams compete over a 4-day period within their respective age category. How do you sign up? Your athlete will need a Gold membership with USA Water Polo and complete the Age Verification process through www.usawaterpolo.org. When is Junior Olympics 2024? The Girls Session II: July 25-28, Bay Area/San Jose CA. The qualifications for 2024 are in Merced June 14-16th.
Olympic Development Program (ODP)
What is ODP - The Olympic Development program will serve as a forum to identify and develop athletes to represent USA water polo throughout domestic and international competition. The foundation of the program is a systematic approach to athlete development through a training program that focuses on both the technical and tactical components of water polo while placing a premium on overall physical fitness.
