Solarian
Speedkin
Hailing from a distant alien lineage attuned to the sun, Solarians gain strength, speed, and flight beneath daylight. However, diamond disrupts their solar physiology, weakening their otherwise extraordinary abilities.
Solar Empowerment: While under open sky in the Overworld during the day, the sun charges you with Strength I, Speed I, Fire Resistance, and Regeneration I. The solar energy also burns through your reserves faster (Hunger II). These are lost at night, under roofs, or in the Nether.
Up, Up and Away: You are naturally winged. Hold Sneak and use your ability item to launch yourself skyward. You never take fall or kinetic damage—except during Diamond Sickness.
Supersonic: Use your ability item (without sneaking) to launch forward at extreme speed with an explosive shockwave. 35 second cooldown. Disabled during Diamond Sickness.
Solar Dependency: Without sunlight, your power fades. You suffer Weakness I and Slowness I at night or in the Nether. The End is neutral territory.
Solite Sickness: Diamond, called Solite on your home planet, collapses your solar connection. Carrying, wearing, or holding any diamond or netherite item, or standing within 6 blocks of diamond ore or blocks, strips all solar buffs, breaks your wings, and inflicts Weakness II and Slowness II. After 8 seconds of continuous exposure the sickness escalates — Weakness and Slowness increase to level III, and you also begin to wither and lose your vision. The sickness lingers 5 seconds after the source is removed.
Solar Metabolism: Channeling the sun's power burns through your energy reserves. You grow hungry faster than a human (Hunger I).
Heroic Reputation: Solarians have earned a heroic reputation among the people they protect. Villagers everywhere recognize you as their champion (permanent Hero of the Village).
Heat Vision: Fire twin beams of concentrated solar heat from your eyes upon using secondary without sneaking, dealing fire damage and igniting your target up to 20 blocks away. Always available, day or night. Disabled during Diamond Sickness. 20 second cooldown.
Freeze Breath: Hold Sneak and use your secondary ability item to vent your stored stellar heat as a compressed breath. The air chills so violently it flash-freezes a cone in front of you. Enemies suffer Slowness III and Weakness II with light frost damage, water turns to ice, and frost coats the ground. Always available, disabled during Diamond Sickness. 20 second cooldown.
A species of hyperkinetic beings yet to be born, the Speedkin have run themselves into our time.
Velocity Burst: Use your ability item (without sneaking) to enter a state of hyper-speed for 15 seconds — Speed XV, Strength III, and Haste II, leaving a crackling lightning trail. 10 second shared cooldown with Blink.
Blink: Hold Sneak and use your ability item to instantly teleport to wherever you're looking, up to 50 blocks away. 10 second shared cooldown with Velocity Burst.
Lightning Strike: Sprint for 3 seconds straight to build kinetic charge, then your ability item appears for 5 seconds. Use it to fire a bolt of lightning at whatever you're looking at, dealing 6 damage. 10 second cooldown after use.
Born to Run: You have Speed II, Jump Boost II, and Haste I at all times. While sprinting you surge to Speed VIII and gain Strength II.
Light Frame: Your body is optimized for speed, not protection. You cannot wear diamond or netherite armor, and cannot equip an elytra.
Hypermetabolism: Running at superhuman speeds burns through your energy. You suffer Hunger I at all times.
Restless: Your body never stops moving, even when you try. You are unable to sleep in a bed — though you can still set your spawn by using one.
