Selection Tool
Architron provides three basic types of selection tools:
Point Select: Allows for selecting individual points within the geometry.
Rectangle Select: Selects elements by dragging a rectangular area across the desired points, edges, or polygons.
Lasso Select: Enables freeform selection by drawing an arbitrary shape around the elements to be selected.
All three selection tools work in conjunction with Cinema 4D's selection modes, allowing for different types of element selection:
Points: Selects individual points within a model.
Edges: Selects edges of surfaces and curve segments.
Polygons: Selects polygons, curves, and surfaces.
Model: Selects entire scene objects.
These selection tools offer flexibility and precision, making it easy for users to choose the exact elements they need for further editing or modification.
Parameters:
Selection:
The selection system includes five selection commands for specific geometry modes:
All: Selects everything or deselects all elements if everything is selected.
Invert: Inverts the current selection.
Connected: Selects all connected parts of the geometry.
Grow: Extends the current selection to neighboring elements.
Shrink: Reduces the current selection by deselecting border elements.
Right Mouse:
Primary selection is performed using the left mouse button (LMB). Users can assign another type of selection method to the right mouse button (RMB) as a secondary selection mode, providing greater versatility during the selection process.
Clipboard:
The standard Cinema 4D clipboard functions are overridden in the Selection Tool with Architron's clipboard, as Cinema 4D is unable to handle NURBS object geometry selections effectively. Individual NURBS geometry selections can be deleted, copied, or transferred between NURBS objects. The clipboard offers four basic operations:
Delete: Removes selected geometry.
Copy: Copies the selected geometry to the clipboard.
Cut: Copies and removes the selected geometry.
Paste: Inserts the copied geometry into the current NURBS object.
