The Windows Object in Architron works together with the Walls Object to create both the 3D window construction and the openings in the wall.
It automatically cuts holes wherever windows are defined.
Windows can be created in two different ways, depending on the workflow.
This is the default behavior and works similarly to the previous system.
When a Windows Object is attached directly to a Wall Object, it automatically switches into generated mode.
Windows are created purely from the parameters inside the Windows Object.
No window lines or frames are needed.
This is the fastest mode for populating walls with windows.
Custom windows are controlled using NURBS objects with window edge parameters.
These NURBS objects:
contain Window Line edges (2D floorplan-style)
or Window Frame edges (3D curves drawn on walls)
and are attached directly to the Wall Object
When such a NURBS object is attached to the wall:
Architron automatically generates one or more Windows Objects
and places them as child objects of the NURBS Window Lines / Window Frames object.
This replaces the old system, where users had to attach custom line/frame geometry directly as children of the Windows Object.
Now, the geometry lives on the wall, and the Windows Object is generated from it automatically.
