The NURBS Object in Architron is an implementation of Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) within Cinema 4D, serving as the foundational element for all parametric objects in the plugin. Derived from the Cinema 4D geometry object, it encompasses a comprehensive suite of NURBS geometry capabilities.
This object provides users with standard editable curves, surfaces, and polygons, making it a versatile tool for detailed architectural modeling.
The NURBS Object supports editable NURBS curves and non-editable parametric NURBS objects, providing a focused and specialized toolset for architectural visualization.
NURBS Objects can also contain Parametric Edges — metadata assigned to individual edges.
These parameters can be:
Created using Architron creation tools (Line, Rectangle, Circle, Arc).
Edited using Architron selection tools in the ParamEdge tab.
Parametric Edges make NURBS Objects capable of driving automatic generation of architectural elements such as walls, windows, roofs, floors, stairs, and profiles.
Object
Output Geometry: Switch between 'Curves' and 'Surfaces' to specify the NURBS output.
NURBS Detail: Adjust the level of detail for NURBS geometry; higher values yield more detail.
Fix to Parent: Ensures the NURBS object's position matches that of its parent when active.
Object Workplane: Dropdown menu for selecting the object's ground axis orientation.
2D Object: When enabled, this parameter affects the UCS (User Coordinate System) and tool behavior, generating UCS based on the selected Ground Axis.
Flatten 2D Object: Flattens the geometry for use as a 2D object.
Import NURBS: Imports NURBS data into the object from a specific file format.
Export NURBS: Exports NURBS data from the object into a specific file format.
Analyze NURBS: Activates additional visualization tools for assessing geometry indexes and properties, useful for in-depth analysis.
Analyze
Show Point ID: Displays the identifier for each control point in the NURBS geometry.
Show Edge ID: Enables visualization of the identifiers for edges in the model.
Show Element ID: Displays identifiers for individual geometric elements.
Show Iso Points: Toggles the visibility of iso-parametric points, which are points of constant parameter on curves or surfaces.
Show Knots: Displays the knots of the NURBS curve or surface. Knots are points that define the division of the curve or surface and influence its shape.
Show Knot Values: Displays the numeric values associated with the knots in the NURBS geometry.
Show Inflection Points: Identifies inflection points where the curvature of the NURBS curve or surface changes sign.
Show Open Curve Ends: Highlights the ends of open NURBS curves for clarity.
Show Loop Disconnections: Toggles the visibility of disconnections in looped NURBS curves, useful for troubleshooting complex geometries.
