Windows in Architron are constructed using five key parametric components known as profiles. These profiles allow for high levels of customization, providing users with the flexibility to create highly detailed and unique window designs. The five components are Outer Profile, Inner Profile, Glass Profile, Glass Pane, and Sill Profile.
The combination of these parametric profiles allows for endless customization opportunities, enabling users to create windows that suit any architectural visualization requirement. The addition of multiple materials support also enhances the realism of window designs. In the Profiles tab, users can enable Materials, generating material tags for each window part, which can then be assigned as desired.
Outer Profile: The outer profile frames the window externally. Users can adjust parameters like Size In-Out and Extrude to control the dimensions and thickness. By enabling the Custom Profile option, users can create a fully customized 2D profile, which is then attached to the window object for further editing.
Inner Profile: The inner profile forms the main window frame. It features parameters such as Size and Depth, which control its dimensions. The Positioning option allows the inner profile to be offset within the wall, either centered or shifted toward the front or back, offering flexible placement.
Glass Profile: This profile adds detail to the area between the inner frame and the glass. Similar to the inner profile, Size and Depth define its dimensions, and Positioning dictates its alignment relative to other components like the inner frame or outer profile.
Glass Pane: The glass pane forms the primary transparent body of the window. Users can specify if the pane consists of one or two surfaces. The Positioning works similarly to other profiles, allowing the glass to align appropriately within the window structure.
Sill Profile: The sill profile creates an extruded detail at the bottom of the window. Users can adjust Height Up and Height Down to control its vertical dimensions. The Extrude Mode can be set to extend from either the wall or an active frame, giving flexibility in how the sill integrates with the window or wall.
