The Roof Object generates 3D roof structures from floorplan curves and works with walls, floors, and other architectural elements.
Roofs can be created using any drawing tool — Line, Rectangle, Circle, or Arc — by setting the tool’s Primitive to Roof. This produces a NURBS source object that becomes the basis for the roof geometry.
Architron supports two ways of generating roofs:
If the NURBS source object does not contain Roof edge parameters, the Roof Object uses all edges of the floorplan.
The roof shape is driven entirely by the Roof Object’s parameters, similar to older versions.
This allows fast creation of uniform hip or gable roofs.
If the source object contains Roof edge parameters, then only those marked edges are used for generating the roof.
In this mode:
Each roof segment can have its own slope
Gable edges can be assigned individually
Roof parameters come from both the Roof Object and the per-edge metadata
The outline is fully editable using Architron edit tools
This approach provides precise control and makes it easy to design complex or freeform roofs.
Roofs created this way support dividing, offsetting, gable assignment, and shape refinement, and can be combined using Boolean operations for multi-part structures.
Roof Type: Select between "Hip" and "Gable" roof styles.
Slope Angle: Adjusts the angle of the roof's slope, applicable to both hip and gable roofs.
