Life long learning: free courses
Life long learning: free courses
Your degree is designed to ensure that you have the skills to become a lifelong learner. Many fields move at such a pace that employees are expected to constantly take part in continuous professional development (also known as CPD). This means the skills that today's graduates need include the ability to be self-motivated, continuous learners, far beyond their graduation.
In addition to your studies, you can enhance your knowledge and employability through free online courses, often known as MOOCS (Massive Open Online Courses). A MOOC is an online course that anyone can take for free. They are usually offered by universities or colleges, cover various subjects, and allow you to learn at your own pace. Online courses are an excellent way to enhance your knowledge, skill set, and employability. Speak to your tutors about how you can incorporate the knowledge and skills gained through completing online courses in your negotiated assessments.
Most of the short courses are free to complete, but some charge a fee to provide a certificate. You are not expected to pay for any additional courses as part of your degree. Talk to your tutors or our careers team if you are unsure whether you need a certificate to achieve your goals.
