Structure an assignment
Any assignment - whether that is an academic essay, reflective essay, podcast, video, presentation or recorded PowerPoint - must have a clear structure.Â
Begin with an introduction, which:
is around 10% of the word count (or time)
answers the question, by outlining the central line of argument
outlines what is in the assignment
A main body, which:
is split into sections, organised into paragraphs
contains evidence that is analysed and referenced in support of the main line of argument
End with a conclusion, which:
contains no new information
recaps the central line of argument (AKA the answer to the question
is around 5% of the word count (or time)
All assignments should include references to demonstrate the use of relevant, reliable evidence. These references must also be included in a reference list at the end of the assignment.
