Human Resources FAQs

Q: At times, my leave slip is submitted but my supervisor never receives it?

A: After you complete the leave form and enter your signature, you see the following message (see screenshot below). Be sure to enter your supervisor's name and email address in the boxes indicated and be careful to spell the supervisor’s email address correctly. If you enter your own email information or if the supervisor’s email address is incorrect or misspelled – your leave slip will be held up in the system.

Q: When should I check the box “This included my lunch hour”?

A: For full days of leave, you can mark yes or no – it won’t affect the calculation. However, if you are taking a partial day of leave, it can sometimes be hard for us to accurately determine how many hours to charge.

For Example:

    • If you are taking the afternoon off and leaving at 12 noon (meaning you worked from 7:45 through 12), you would enter 3.3 hours of leave and list the times as 1:00 through 4:15. In this situation you would mark ‘NO’ this does not include my lunch hour. You can also enter a note in the ‘Additional Information from Employee’ field that can help explain.

    • If you are taking time during the day – perhaps from 10:00 am through 2:00 pm, you would enter 3.0 hours of leave and in this situation, you would mark ‘YES’ this does include my lunch hour (meaning the timeframe included my lunch hour). The number you enter in hours of leave should NOT include the lunch hour. Again, you can also enter a note in the ‘Additional Information from Employee’ field that can help explain.

Q: How can I cancel or change a leave slip after I've submitted it?

A: We have added a box in the top left corner of the Request for Leave form titled “Request to revise previously submitted leave”. Just start a new form and click this box. Then, complete the form with the accurate information and give us a note in the Additional Information from Employee to help us know how we should correct or cancel a previous slip.

Q: As a supervisor, how can I correct or change something the employee has entered?

A: There are a couple of options to handle this.

    • You can reject or send the slip back to the employee and have them submit a corrected one.

    • You can enter information in the ‘Additional Information from Supervisor’ field to let us know the correct information.
