The renovation plans for the basement focused on the Maker’s Space. This area is allocated for students to work on their personal projects, and currently, its main use is only as a wood shop with tables to use as a work area.
With the removal of this wall, the remaining area will be split into three parts. These areas will be allocated for use as a wood shop in one room, and a metal shop in another, and the remaining space will be converted into storage spaces. Since the creation of the Maker's Space, there have been many complaints from its users that there isn’t enough storage space available for large projects that may require multiple days to complete.
In addition to renovating the maker's space, we also renovated the restrooms in the basement. The existing restrooms are too small for the space that they are supposed to provide service to.
