Renovations
When renovating the first floor, our group had the goal in mind of creating a more inviting and lounge-useable space while still keeping a sustainable and green design. To achieve our goal of designing more lounge spaces, we came up with a plan for the offices. Relocating the Greek life offices and the student activity offices would therefore allocate room for a specific faculty lounge. The relocation of these offices would therefore be implemented in other parts of campus such as the Walker Arts and Humanities Center. The allocation for the faculty lounge would be greatly used amongst all faculty and staff. This is the area for the faculty to leisure, dine, and use for informal meetings. This space creates an alternative environment for faculty to work on different aspects of their jobs. A major advantage is that this environment is isolated from the students allowing faculty a secluded space. To reiterate our sustainable goal, renovating the HVAC and lighting systems (LED and Natural) will be included.
